Oxford
The University of Oxford is brimming with motivated students, keen to explore new ideas and forge their own paths. Edu-venture at Oxford aims to facilitate these journeys by making new connections with organisations, social enterprises and charities who have so much to offer. Our focus here is to provide a platform for students to meet inspirational figures and take their first steps into the career world through exciting and innovative work.
Our Committee
In the past, I have worked with several charities in Oxford, meeting many inspiring individuals. I want to see Edu-venture flourish in Oxford to enable the wider community of students here to also meet these inspirational individuals and to help my peers begin their journey to meaningful careers with like-minded people.
I have been constantly frustrated by the lack of information and opportunities for, what I like to call, ‘careers with purpose’, and I hope that Edu-venture Oxford will be part of the solution to this.
I decided to join the Edu-Venture committee in the lead-up to my summer as a campus ambassador in China with the GOTOCO team.
My interest in the study of languages and cultures drove me to make the most of this opportunity to encourage cultural exchange and international work with nonprofit organisations which are not widely advertised. Edu-Venture gives you the chance to meet like-minded people and experience different career paths abroad that you may not have thought accessible.
That’s why I’m really excited to bring students together to connect with these organisations to explore the working world from all avenues and have a lasting social impact!
